Presentation of the poject in IATAS’s Cabin Waste working group

On October 3^rd, during the 13^th meeting of IATA’s Cabin Waste Working Group, Iberia had the opportunity to present the progress achieved with the LIFE Zero Cabin Waste project. Moreover, this meeting took place during the ATAG Global Sustainable Aviation Summit 2018, the most important sustainability summit in the aviation sector, making it a good opportunity to promote the dissemination of the project.

During the presentation, Marina García Aedo (Iberia) presented the results obtained from the last trial flights performed in Iberia’s short and medium haul flights, as well as the modifications carried out by GateGourmet to adapt its facilities to the selective collection of waste. Also, special emphasis was given to the current problem that exists with international waste, considered Category 1 and, therefore, with limited legal sustainable management methods.
