Last 25th of October 2017, Iberia and Gate Gourmet met with IATA and TAP Air Portugal.
The meeting was divided into two parts. The first part took place at Iberia’s Offices, where IATA and Iberia were able to define its collaboration to develop a Zero Cabin Waste questionnaire which will allow to gather information about the current management of cabin waste at international level. Likewise, during this first part of the meeting, the project Life + Zero Cabin Waste was presented to TAP Air Portugal.
The second part of the meeting consisted of a visit to Gate Gourmet facilities as IATA was interested in knowing how cabin waste is being currently treated in this facilities. During this visit, Gate Gourmet was able to explain how the deal with cabin waste nowadays and what is expected to change and improve with the implementation of Zero Cabin Waste project.
The meeting was a success as it was possible to put together multiple ideas about how to manage waste in a more sustainable way and also, proposal for decreasing the generation of waste arose.
